This discovery training offers an introduction to ImSym - Imaging System Simulator, an advanced platform for end-to-end imaging system simulation.

ImSym enables engineers to virtually prototype imaging systems by modeling the complete image-formation pipeline, from scene and optics through the detector and image signal processing, helping teams evaluate real-world image performance earlier and more efficiently.

This training familiarizes participants with the purpose, capabilities, and typical workflows of ImSym, providing insight into how the tool supports modern imaging system development.

By the end of this session, you will be able to: 

  • Understand what ImSym is and the types of imaging problems it is designed to address
  • Identify the main components of the ImSym imaging pipeline
  • Navigate the ImSym interface and workflow at a conceptual level
  • Understand how to perform end-to-end image simulation in ImSym

This session is offered at no cost, and no prior experience with ImSym is required. A basic understanding of imaging systems or optics concepts is recommended.

    Maria Ruiz Gonzalez is an Applications Engineer for the Optical Design Engineering group at Keysight, supporting CODE V and ImSym. She earned her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Optical Sciences from the Wyant College of Optical Sciences at the University of Arizona, where her research focused on gamma-ray cameras.
